Angela Feeney wins selection for Motherwell & Wishaw

Angela Feeney has been selected as the Labour Party candidate for the Westminster constituency of Motherwell and Wishaw.

Feeney, the candidate backed by the left of the party and most of the trade unions, was also the candidate in the 2017 General Election, where she reduced the SNP majority from 11,898 to 318 - a swing of more than 12%.

Her opponent was Martine Nolan, a local charity worker, who is generally regarded as being on the moderate wing of the party.

Feeney was supported by the previous Labour MP for the constituency Frank Roy, along with the Trade Unions, Unite, CWU, and her own union Unison.
