Left sweep National Constitutional Committee elections

Candidates backed by the Centre-Left Grassroots Alliance have resoundingly won all six new places on Labour's NCC, which deals with disciplinary proceedings within the party.

The results show Momentum backed candidates sweeping the membership section, with the lowest placed candidate winning more than four times as many votes as the Progress/Labour First backed slate.

In a statement on Twitter, victorious candidate Khaled Moyeed thanked his supporters and said: "I am honoured to be elected onto the National Constitutional Committee along with my comrades on the Left Slate.

I thank you for putting your trust in me and look forward to serving you applying due process and natural justice."

Final tally:

Khaled Moyeed 327,292 14%

Annabelle Harle 315,693 14%
