Left win key positions on Labour's Scottish Policy Forum

Pro-Corbyn candidates won all three officer spots on the SPF, the body charged with forming Scottish Labour's policy direction.

Lesley Laird, Agnes Tolmie and Patricia Duncan were all elected at the first meeting of the reconstituted body in Stirling today.
The Policy Forum was formally restarted this year, after ceasing to meet under Jim Murphy and Kezia Dugdale, and forms the basis of Labour's policy drafting mechanism for devolved matters under the current rules.
The victories cement the left's control of the body, after heavily winning the elections of the membership representatives in September, including every youth position on the forum. It also gives the Scottish Labour leadership the ability to pursue more radical policy proposals in the next Scottish Labour manifesto.
