Rhea Wolfson reselected in Livingston
Rhea Wolfson has been reselected as the Labour candidate for the Westminister constituency of Livingston, in West Lothian.
Wolfson, an organiser for GMB and a veteran Labour left activist, responded to her victory on Twitter:
Absolutely thrilled, and a little emotional, to have been selected as Livingston’s Labour candidate for Westminster. I want to see towns and villages like mine at the heart of Labour’s vision for the country + a Labour Government that’s truly transformative 🌹🌹— Rhea Wolfson (@rheawolfson) June 24, 2018
As the candidate in the 2017 General Election, she oversaw one of the largest falls in any SNP majority in Scotland - from 16,843 in 2015 to 3,878 - on a 5.2 per cent swing.
Wolfson was the only candidate who put themselves forward for the Livingston selection.
Wolfson is currently a member of Labour’s National Executive Committee, though she will be stepping down after this summer’s elections.
