Ruth Davidson joins PR lobbying firm for big business
Ex-Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson has joined London PR firm Tulchan Communications.
It is understood she will be paid £50,000 for around 24 days work.
In an interview for the Evening Standard, the MSP said capitalism needed to be 'reset'.
News of her appointment prompted criticism as she intends to carry out the role whilst remaining an MSP.
Scottish Labour MSP Neil Findlay is putting forward a Member’s Bill at the Scottish Parliament which will stop MSPs like Ruth Davidson from having a second job.
Neil Findlay MSP called on Davidson to stand down as an MSP: "Ruth Davidson’s actions bring the Scottish Parliament into disrepute.
“Instead of standing up for her constituents in parliament she will be standing up for the firms that her bosses are paid to lobby for.
“You cannot be a parliamentarian and a highly paid lobbyist at the same time.
“If she wants to continue pocketing tens of thousands of pounds from this lobbying firm she should resign as an MSP."
